How & where do I get a criminal record check & a child abuse registry check?
Okay, so I have just been accepted into an early childhood education college program but I am now expected to bring them a criminal record check & child abuse registry check before I begin classes. I haven't got the slightest idea where to begin with this so any info would be great. Where can I get these? How long will it take? How much will it cost? Ect.. Thanx Oops sorry, forgot. I'm in winnipeg manitoba, canada.

College advice... Criminal record check.?
When I was 14 maybe, I can't remember exactly. I know it wasn't much older than that.I shoplifted and got caught. A police officer came in and told me how stupid it was.I know that it was put on my record that police can see.I was then hanging out with my friends at a school over summer vacation and we climbed on top of the school. Someone called the cops on us, and we were driven back to my house in a cop car. But about a month ago, my friends and I were walking down the street and stopped by a cop, wondering if we had been at the arena the night before there was a disturbance so he typed in all of our names, to see if we had a record and he didn't say anything to me. Is that because it's not there?I am going to college for my DSW, working with disabled children. I have already been accepted. And with my program I have to have a police record check, I was just wondering if those 2 things would be on it when I give it to my placements, and if it will hurt me in any way.Thanks.
